Which format should I choose for a photo or document
The choice depends on the task: send a photo, save a transparent logo, post a picture on the site or collect scans into a document. Start with the recipient's requirements.
Photo to send
JPG/JPEG is usually suitable for photos. It uses lossy compression and does not store transparency. On our website, the result has an extension .jpg. If the upload form requires it .JPEG, check her requirements: this is a different spelling of the extension of the same format.
Screenshot or transparent graphics
PNG saves the image without lossy compression and supports transparency. For screenshot text and graphics with clear borders, this is more useful than several consecutive saves in JPG. The background of an ordinary photo will not disappear from the PNG selection.
Image for the site
WebP supports transparency and different compression modes. Our converter uses 92% quality; there is no lossless setting here. Compare the finished file with the original in size and appearance before publishing.
Scans or multiple photos
Select PDF if the recipient needs a document with a sequence of pages. Each photo will occupy a separate page. To edit images, it is more convenient to save the original images separately.
Check the result on a single file
First, download one typical file, select the result and download it. Open in the application for which you are preparing the image. Then process the entire pack. Save the original separately: reverse conversion will not return the lost data.
