Why convert HEIF to JPEG

JPEG opens in most editors, instant messengers and forms for download. After selecting the result, the service creates a new file, and does not change only the name.

Batch conversion

Add up to 20 photos and set JPEG for the entire queue or for individual files. You can download the ready images as a ZIP archive.

When to choose JPG

JPEG and JPG are the same format family; HEIF is transcoded to a compatible file with the extension.jpg. Renaming HEIF to .JPEG does not change the content, so a real conversion is needed.

Frequent questions

Will transparency be lost?

HEIF photos usually don't require transparency; when saving a JPEG, the transparent areas, if any, turn white.

Is it possible to get a PNG instead of a JPEG?

Yes, select PNG in the queue or open the HEIF to PNG converter through the general list of tools.

What new formats are supported?

BMP, GIF, static AVIF and regular TIFF can be converted to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF. Only the first frame is saved for a GIF, and the first page is saved for a TIFF. TIFF: RGB, grayscale or palette, LZW compression, ZIP, PackBits or uncompressed; BigTIFF, tiles, CMYK and fax compression are not supported yet. AVIF requires a browser with support for decoding it.

Where are my photos uploaded to?

Nowhere. The conversion is performed in your browser. We do not send photos to the server and do not save them in the account. When the page is closed or refreshed, the queue and results disappear.

What limitations does the converter have?

Up to 20 files at a time, up to 30 MB each and up to 100 MB in total. Images up to 50 megapixels are supported. The speed depends on the device. On a phone, it's better to start with a small package and keep the tab open.

Is the location and date of the shooting saved?

EXIF, geolocation, and other metadata are not transferred. HDR and additional Live Photo frames are not saved: the result is a normal static image. The originals remain unchanged.
