PDF, images and text: what is saved during conversion

PDF to JPG and photo to PDF solve different problems. One operation creates pictures of pages, the other puts photos in a document. None of them on our site recognize the text.

01

What comes out of a PDF

Our converter renders the entire selected page. The text, illustrations and background become one picture. This is convenient when you need to send a page as an image, but you can no longer select text in JPG or PNG.

02

Why is it not extracting photos

A page can have multiple photos, captions, and frames. As a result, you will get an image of the entire sheet, and not individual original photos. The saved image also does not have to match the resolution of the illustration inside the PDF.

03

What happens to photos when saving a PDF

Each photo is placed on its own page. The site uses JPEG with 92% quality; transparent areas turn white. The words on the scan remain pixels, not editable letters.

04

What is OCR for?

OCR recognizes the letters depicted and creates text that can be searched or copied. There is no such function here yet. If you need an editable Word or PDF with scan search, you will need a separate recognition tool.

05

How to save a convenient result

To send a page, select JPG. For graphics with small lines, try PNG and compare readability. If text search, links, or the structure of the original document are important, save the original PDF along with the pictures.
