What happens when converting to JPG and JPEG

You will get a static file .JPG with 92% quality. Transparent areas are replaced with a white background. JPG and JPEG are the same format; the converter gives the extension .JPG.

Limitations of this conversion

Selecting an arbitrary frame, uploading all frames, and saving animations are not supported yet. The result is always static.

When to choose JPG

A GIF can have multiple frames. This tool saves only the first frame, not the entire animation. A note about this is visible next to the file in the queue before conversion.

Frequent questions

Is it possible to convert multiple GIF?

Yes, up to 20 files at a time, no more than 30 MB each and 100 MB in total. On the phone, start with a small package.

Are images transferred to the server?

No. Files are processed in the browser's memory. After closing the page, the queue and unsaved results will disappear.

What new formats are supported?

BMP, GIF, static AVIF and regular TIFF can be converted to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF. Only the first frame is saved for a GIF, and the first page is saved for a TIFF. TIFF: RGB, grayscale or palette, LZW compression, ZIP, PackBits or uncompressed; BigTIFF, tiles, CMYK and fax compression are not supported yet. AVIF requires a browser with support for decoding it.

Where are my photos uploaded to?

Nowhere. The conversion is performed in your browser. We do not send photos to the server and do not save them in the account. When the page is closed or refreshed, the queue and results disappear.

What limitations does the converter have?

Up to 20 files at a time, up to 30 MB each and up to 100 MB in total. Images up to 50 megapixels are supported. The speed depends on the device. On a phone, it's better to start with a small package and keep the tab open.

Is the location and date of the shooting saved?

EXIF, geolocation, and other metadata are not transferred. HDR and additional Live Photo frames are not saved: the result is a normal static image. The originals remain unchanged.
